It’s moments like this, scenes like this, that make me forever loyal to this show, whatever other shit it might throw at us.
Because I can’t imagine any girl, any PERSON, not relating to this. You start out thinking you can do anything, be anything, and then people start to wear you down with words, telling you, “Actually, you can’t, because you’re too fat, you’re too young, you don’t look right, you don’t fit in.” And you retreat a little further into your shell until the only parts of you that are visible are the ones that haven’t been worn away by their words.
